GH: WOR Set List – 90 vs. 1500? Nice Work, Activison…

So, I awoke this morning, as I sometimes do, to find my email bursting with all the shiny new GamesCon press releases… Yay. Amidst the near-endless sea of “F2P” Korean MMO announcements, my still-sleep-encrusted eye did spy something a bit different. Not interesting mind you, but simply different (FYI I associate different with emails that are COMPLETELY IN FUCKING CAPS). It twas a release from our omni-present friends at Activision, and it twas in regards to our good ol’ friend, the Guitar Hero series. Now, after I was able to collect myself from initial shock of Activision screaming at at me, I managed my way through several paragraphs of what I can only assume was inspired by Mein Kampf and typed this so you wouldn’t have to do the same. Please note, I’ve made some slight modifications whenever I found myself dozing off from boredom…
“We engaged HOLOCAUST our fans to find out what they really wanted and then hand picked HOLOCAUSTED over 90 tracks that deliver the ultimate rock HOLOCAUST experience,” said Tim Riley Mein Fuhrer, Vice President of Music Affairs HOLOCAUSTIN’ for Guitar Hero. “From the new guitar controller shower system, to the gameplay, to the on-disc set list, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock the Third Reich is truly a return to rock Auschwitz.”
- From ACTIVISION!
The song list is actually looking pretty solid… Or it was two years ago when it came out on Rock Band. And I think Activision may be banking way too much on the RUSH fanbase, but I don’t even think those are the big issues with the game. When it comes down to it, Guitar Hero is dead… I know, I know… ‘Tis sad, ’tis the end of an era. To be honest, I downright loathe Rock Band, and wholeheartedly believe rhythm games as a genre are dead, but if I’m going to get off my happy ass and play one, you’d better believe it’s the one that’s got the more “GBs”… Errr… Songs. RB3 is going to have 1500 songs available at launch; that’s a hard number to get past, even if I hate the game. These games are meant to be played drunk and with friends, and when I’m drunk and with friends you’d better believe I’m gonna want some variety, and am not gonna give a shit about gameplay or which plastic guitar I prefer. So that’s it… That’s all I’ve got… Also I just realized I could have just posted the lists and you kids would have been happy.
I’ve successfully wasted your time… And mine. *le sigh*
